About Us

Don’t burn the candle at both ends, but don’t sleep your life away either. Have adventures, but be practical. YOLO, but be responsible. Such are the contradictions of life that start at a very young age for most. We want the freedom to do as we please, yet are drawn to the path that society has laid out for us (white picket fence, over-consumption, debt as the norm, etc.). Unfortunately this “American dream” typically does not lead to freedom in the financial or physical sense.

This is a story of 2 “practical” souls that are responsibly bucking the trend. Our end goal is financial freedom and the ability to choose where we live, how we live, and why we live without the boundaries of salaries, employers, and physical items.  Join us on our journey as we grow, learn, and struggle with what works and what doesn’t. We are early on in discovering what financial freedom means to us and working to simplify our lives day by day. Finding the “doodlepop” in this crazy world is tough, but it’s something we are eager to wrestle with. peace sign

  1. I can’t wait to go on these journey’s with you and learn from you guys. I am definitely the “saver” type. Sometimes I need to learn to spend a little more on “fun”. I am constantly researching how I can live a YOLO life on a budget, and of course until I can manage to get to the point of financial freedom as well. Great blog!

    1. Thank you, Lacey! I completely agree with you and love that phrase “YOLO life on a budget”. It totally is possible with some initial planning and forethought. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest, but that doesn’t mean breaking the bank. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
